More fake £50 notes being circulated in town

POLICE at Warrington are continuing to receive calls about attempts to use fake £50 notes in the town.
The latest involved an attempt to use a fake note in a Stockton Heath pub.
Fortunately, staff at the pub realised it was a fake note but the person attempting to pass it was able to flee the scene.
A police spokesman said the notes were not a good copy as watermarks and other details were missing. The paper used was also clearly not genuine.
But they had been sprayed so that if a UV pen was used to check them they still appeared genuine.
It was necessary to use a UV light to confirm their authenticity.
