Police seek man after serious assault in pub

DETECTIVES have released a photograph of a man they want to speak to in connection with a serious assault at a pub in Warrington.
The attack was on Sunday, December 23 at 9.40pm and it left a 55-year-old man with serious injuries.
It is believed the attack in the Causeway pub on Wilderspool Causeway, was unprovoked.
The victim required hospital treatment, although he is now recovering at home.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and detectives believe that the man in the photograph may be able to help with their investigation.
They are urging anyone who recognises him or believes they may know who he is to get in touch.
Detective Constable Whitney said: “We believe the man in the photograph may have vital information to aid our investigation.
“If you think you recognise the man in the photograph or know who he is please call the team here at Warrington Police Station.
“I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the photograph to get in touch.”
The offender was described as, 6ft tall, with a heavy build and short dark hair. He was clean shaven and was wearing a beige check shirt. He was associating with a group of other men prior to the incident.
Anyone with information concerning the man in the photograph should call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting IML 277236.
