I had almost no hope to see any trace of colour in the sky, at the end of a grey and rainy day. The brownish tint reminded me of Dante’s immortal verses. They also happened to resonate with some recent events in my life, which have led me to some rather painful realisations. Winter is a strong reminder that exterior beauty is ephemeral, a vanishing shell unable to withstand the test of time. Lush foliage will fall and skeletal rotting remains will be forever exposed.
