GRAPPENHALL and Thelwall Parish Council is to discuss initiatives to enhance the village’s bid for the this year’s Cheshire Best Kept Village competition.
The matter will be on the agenda for the March meeting of the council.
In the meantime, a number of other moves to improve the appearance of the village have been agreed.
Litter-picking sessions are to be organised on Saturday, March 3 – as part of the national Great British Spring Clean – and on Saturdays July 7 and October 6. All three sessions will be between 10am and 12.30pm.
The council has also decided that the existing white railings around the stocks in Grappenhall Village, outside St Wilfrid’s Church, should be re-painted in black.
