Guitarist hits new milestone with debut album

A WARRINGTON guitarist has hit a new milestone with a debut album.

Andrew Procter, who lives in Burtonwood makes up one quarter of pop-punk band, Milestones which is a journey which all started on a Facebook group.

On the March 28 2014, Sometime After Dark a metal-core band from Warrington were playing what was to be their final show together.

Supporting Hacktivist, the five piece would go their separate ways with Andrew Procter (guitarist) and Andy Makin (Drums) later answering a call for like minded musicians to start a band via the UK Pop Punk Facebook group. The band formed in late 2014 and released their debut EP, Equal Measures, independently in April 2015

While Andy has since gone on to join Liverpool band, WSTR, former Priestley College/ BIMM student, Andrew Procter alongside Matt Clarke (vocals), Mark Threlfall (bass), and Eden Leviston (guitar) have crafted a enduring collection of tracks on a rollercoaster of emotion and is available now through all usual outlets.

Recorded at Steel City Studio in Sheffield the band would hole themselves up for months at a time, sleeping on the floor, engaging in marathon writing sessions for 15 hours straight.

Regardless of their relatively short time together, Milestones have much of 2016/17 touring alongside everyone from Mayday Parade, members which would go on to help co-write some of the tracks on the album to Hawthorne Heights to Simple Plan. Along the way, the four-piece have quietly assembled what would become Red Lights and confidently kick off what promises to be their biggest, best, and brightest chapter yet.

Matt (2nd from right) has said, “Red Lights is about using the demons in your mind to become the best version of yourself you can be.”

With lyrics that pack an emotional punch and stadium-sized hooks that make each track a standout, you’ll be sure to see more from Milestones in the future. Red Lights is out Friday February 23.
